Re: where do bloodites get their news?
Yessuh massa Daedalus, I'm that character, and thank you. Actually I was looking for an appropriate thread to greet my dear bloothren but couldn't find it, so here we are :) May thy servant get some sort of update on what happened to that most holy place? One day it was gone and only by chance did I...

Re: Modders vs Puritans
Well, you could say it's more of an acquired taste in the sense that I'd play DOS games like that just for the speed boost. Guess I'm far more inconvenienced by uneven frame rates and scaling error as opposed to low resolutions and incorrect aspect ratios, so was my brain rewired not to notice the &...

Re: Retro game criteria
Dates may better serve to set the lower and upper limits of an influential technology behind video game "eras" like say 1993 (BSP's popularized by Doom) and 2004 (Per Pixel Lighting popularized by Doom 3), so forth and so on. "Retro", however, is a different animal and clearly mo...

Re: bloodites and sports
I'm allergic to sports. I was the kid who purposely played bad just so no one would welcome me in any team from any discipline. Howbeit, I worked out quite heavily for the health benefits till I ruined a couple discs. More recently I discovered professional arm wrestling on youtube and I can honestl...

Re: where do bloodites get their news?
https://www.infowars.com/ https://winepressnews.com/ I don't necessarily agree with everything everyone says in any one news site, but at least they're not telling me to eat ze bugs. Info wars is THE place godless socialist regimes and NCP's in general don't want you to know about. Allows all voices...

Re: Are Bloodites night owls?
I wouldn't discern a circadian rhythm if it threw acid in my face. Night owl from birth I guess.

Re: blood cousin
I think Blood inherited a bunch of stuff from ROTT and made it even better. The gore, fire and explosions, texture work and theme, even down to the color palette. Worth checking out.

Re: "Domus Durbentia" - The Cultist Language
I've been tempted to mail that guy from LangFocus just to ask him for some input on this. It'd be very interesting to know how in the world the whole thing was pieced together and finally be able to come up with fresh vocabulary no guesswork involved.

Re: Cryptic Passage vs. Blood level design
When a map's well-designed as I'd say CP is, it doesn't quite matter to me if I'm exploring "wacky" places (tragically MIA from video games since God knows when) or more "realistic" ones. You can't warp into Boggy Creek and tell me that doesn't look and play like a real nightmare...

Re: proselytizing Blood to the hapless and unwary
Well, I usually do that like I do with everything else I'm trying to introduce people to; I begin by shitting on everything they like....nah, not really, but technically this is true because any game that isn't Blood is naturally inferior to it.

Re: Modders vs Puritans
I'd say I fall on the "puritan" side of things. To me a perfect Blood experience involves *at least* the following: . A 320x200 output picture integer-upscaled to the largest dimensions the monitor can handle. . No 4:3 aspect-ratio correction because Blood's artwork (a good portion of it a...

Re: What makes a bloodite tick?
By the time Blood rolled around, I was already jaded beyond repair by Nekromantik, it's sequel and a number of other vile, disgusting horror films...so yeah, a bit of pixely gore wasn't exactly a deterrent for me. Now, while that didn't keep me from approaching it, the one thing that has kept me com...
