retro game review sites

Post by Lizzieborden » Mon Jul 11, 2022 11:47 pm

As I wait for Nat to finish her blood session (yep, we have a convert !) ,
I was wondering...
(as is my wont)
What is your face site for retro game reviews?
Umnir mentioned LGR in a past post. I like LGR but it is too hardware oriented.

My faves?
Civvie 11 and Gmanlives .
The latter was mistaken about fresh supply, but otherwise I love his vids. I go to him to decide on which retrogame to play of the 50 (or so) in my uncles collection. I then try to find a port for win 10 (the 98 rig 's quantum HD is clicking...NOT GOOD!!

PLease let us know!

Pixelmusement in youtube covers some good obscure oldies though I find the guys talking style a bit annoying.

Yeah, LGR used to be about games, now it’s more about hardware nostalgia.

Agreed.
I really like his game reviews though. I found him a year ago when I was looking for a review of "Depth Dwellers" (uncle's collection) .Terrible game apparently, so I will not bother. But it watching his vid was such a relaxing experience, and it was funny, too. The world could be on fire and I would still just be chillin !
Pixelmusement: wow, some very old dos stuff there. My inherited big box collection only goes back to 1992 or so (wolfenstein : the Spear of Destiny) . Not sure If I can get into stuff older than that unless its abandonware.
